15 things we all think and do when using Instagram and Pinterest.

1. "OMG I NEED A HOUSE AS WHITE AS THAT" you exclaim as you examine the photograph up close hoping to spot a stain that ruins the perfect illusion.

2. *loads up the Boots website and buys all the nude lip liners in the world* because if it works for Kylie Jenner, it's clearly going to work for you too.

3. "Does her contour really look like that or is she just using a really good filter?" It's just impossible to tell.

4. Seeing a photo of an amazing burger whilst you're tucking into your Weightwatchers microwave lasagne is enough to ruin your whole week.

5. A random photo of a cat get thousands of likes so you upload a photo of your cute lil kitty and it gets a grand total of 4 likes. Oh.

6. Losing a follower and immediately checking your feed to see what you last posted in case you've accidentally offended someone.

7. Buying all the ingredients to make a rainbow cake but your food colouring must have got confused as your cake looks like vomit.

8. Liking photos of salads, bottles of fruit infused water and photos of girls with dreamy bodies whilst dipping dorito after dorito in a calorific sauce.

9. Logging onto Amazon and buying loads of pretty white/grey/pink blogger hyped books purely to use as decor because it just looked so damn nice on Pinterest.

10. Getting really pissed off that you've just taken a bite out of your cake before instagramming it cause your BFF just got hundreds of likes on her cake photo.

11. Posting a selfie that doesn't get at least 5 likes in the first minute results in you taking it down immediately because you must be really ugly and you really can't afford to be losing more followers.

12. You get seriously embarrassed when you realise you've pinned a photo of a bedroom to your makeup board. THAT DOES NOT BELONG THERE!

13. Rolling your eyes at the 405393820 Starbucks photos on Instagram but then heading into your local Starbucks cafe and immediately taking a photo of your drink cause if you didn't take a photo, it basically didn't happen and the world needs to know you drink Starbucks and not the free vending machine hot chocolates at work right?

14. When you work really hard on your brightness and contrasting skills and your photo just gets SO many likes and you feel like a complete goddess.

15. Feeling totes creative after making a 'memories jar' thanks to your good pal Pinterest then it gets to the end of the year and you find your memories jar under your bed, covered in dust with a total of one pieces of paper in it. You take the piece of paper out and it reads 'made this memory jar for all my memories this year'.

Four mini makeup reviews in one post

I had a makeup clear out a couple of weeks ago and found some products that I hadn't yet tried and some that had just completely got lost in my stack of makeup drawers - hoarder, I am! I wanted to review some of said products but I didn't have enough to say about each of them separately to warrant a post of their own if you get my drift? so I've decided on just reviewing 4 in 1. How lucky are you!

Alright, so the first thing that becomes apparent when reading this post is that there's no bloody swatch of the nail polish. I've put this post off because I didn't have a swatch and then I just thought, y'know what, I could just tell you to google the swatches so pleaseeee do that instead! The truth is, I absolutely hated this nail polish and I don't want to go through the pain of painting my nails with it again all for the sake of one photo. Models Own Chrome Rose has the prettiest bottle I've ever seen and I could just look at it all day but the polish itself sadly didn't suit my pale skin tone.  Not only did it not suit me, it also made my nails look hideous. I don't know whether it's the chrome finish but my nails looked like they were in terrible condition underneath it. A plus is that you only need one layer for a good coverage but a negative is that it chips quicker than you could say the word 'chip'.

I actually found the Barry M black marker pen in a bargain bin at Tesco for £2.50 so believe me when I say I'm pretty chuffed.  The packaging is pretty 'meh' which I think is pretty standard for a Barry M non nail polish product so I don't really have a lot to comment on it. I do love the fact it's literally like a marker pen, you get a thick black line due to the massive felt tip type nib but if thick liner's not your thing, there's no compromise for a thinner line I'm afraid. I've used this liner around 5 times and each time it's stayed put all day. It's black but not black if that makes sense, it's not as black as the Collection liner which still claims 'number one eyeliner' space in my heart. Oh and it also seems to be drying out which makes me sad but I don't know whether this is down to the fact that it was massively reduced.

I love a good Baby Lips lip balm. They're great to have on your desk at work or just to have as a backup product in your bag.  The regular formula ones don't really make much of a difference to the condition of my lips so I thought I'd try out the Dr Rescue Too Cool edition.  I've been loving the tingly sensation from the mint especially when applied in the morning to prepare for lipstick cause it wakes me up a bit.  I do think it does a lot better job at moisturising compared to the regular Baby Lips so good work, Maybelline!

Judging from the product itself inside the W7 Africa Blush box, you'd have every right to be terrified. Bronzer, an orange combination of blush/bronze and a bright pink blusher shouldn't work but MY GOODNESS, it does.  I absolutely love this blusher - you can build it up or just have a subtle sweep across your cheeks and it still looks really nice. An added bonus is that it also lasts all day so there's no need for touch ups. An extra added bonus is that the brush it comes with is useless for the actual bronzer but ridiculously great for contouring those cheekbones with a contouring cream.

How to make a basic blog header when you really don't have a clue

Ok, so admittedly I didn't design my current blog header but for around 3 years I used to make mine using two easy peasy simple tools - Microsoft Paint and DaFont.  I completely taught myself this (although there really isn't anything to it) so it's not going to be the 'professional' way but if you're a new blogger or just fancy a new header but don't know how the hell to go about making one, this post is for you.

Step one: Find a font that you love on http://www.dafont.com. Pick about 5 or 10 so you can experiment with them as some don't look as great as you think they're going to then just click the download button to save them to your computer. You'll then need to click on the font and select 'install font' to install them onto your computer. For this post, I've picked Candy Cane Stripe and Honey Script.

Step two: Select Layout, then Template Designer from your blogger dashboard, click on adjust widths and make a note of the measurement of your blog. As you can see from the screenshot above, mine is 1090px.

Step three: Open paint and change the size of your picture to match your blog width. The height depends on how big you want your header to be and how much you actually want to include in it. I find anything between 150-300 pixels is just right.  BTW, I had to download Paint for MAC so mine will look different to yours if you're not using a MAC!

Step four: This is the fun bit! Play around with your header, experiment with different fonts and sizes and just have fun making something that's exactly you. Once you're happy with your header, save it but make sure you save it as a PNG file - i don't know what a PNG file is but I know that if you save it as this, it'll look exactly as it does on paint. If you save as a JPEG, it goes all blurry and the colour goes a bit off!

Step five: INSTALL YOUR BLOG HEADER! Go to your blogger dashboard, click on layout and then select 'edit' on the header tab. You then just need to upload your image, make sure the 'instead of title and description' box is ticked and click save. Then preview your new and improved blog header!

So that's how you can make your blog look prettier in about 20 minutes. It's literally so simple and if I can do it, you definitely can too!
