Sun Kissed Sunlight Bronze Instant Self Tanning Mousse Review

I am a huge fan of fake tan. I feel almost naked without it and definitely less prettier.  I don't know why it is but for some reason, you always feel better with a tan, don't you think?

I'm not one to pass up on an opportunity to try out a new fake tan so whilst browsing Bodycare recently I noticed this Sun Kissed Sunlight Bronze Instant Self Tanning Mouse. BLAH, what a tongue twister! It was sitting on the shelf next to St Moritz so I decided to give it a whirl.  I was expecting alot from this just because, since discovering St Moritz I now believe that all cheap fake tans will be good! However, this was not the case.

You can definitely compare the consistency of this fake tan with St Moritz as the mousse is practically identical! I decided that I'd fake tan one arm and leave the other one scarily pale to compare.

I can't believe how horrid this tan actually looks, there's nothing attractive about it. I look bright orange! This was apparently meant to "develop" within a couple of hours for that natural sun kissed look.  If anything, it faded.  For £3.99 I really shouldn't moan but I was really disappointed with this product and I thought that I'd let everyone know to avoid future disappointment with this product.

It's also left my hands stained bright orange! It actually looks worse than this in real life! Haha! My boss wasn't impressed today. He said why don't I just use gravy to fake tan instead? Ahh men!

  2. oh my oh my.

I avoid cheaper fake tans like the plague now.. since my absolute nightmare with stmoriz spray tan you can see it here http://katiourcouture.blogspot.com/2011/04/oh-pooo.html

I'm not advertising my blog like a rude person I just reaaaaaaaaaaaallllly also wanna put it across what a joke some fake tans are hahaha. I haven't tried the mouse, tbh I'm terrified of st moriz... i was patchy for WEEKS my knuckles looked bruised!! I even tried neat bleech on my skin but it just burned me and didn't get rid, also tried tan erase. From body care, THEY ARE CRAP!

From now on I like I'll stick to my sttropez :( should have known better really meh x

  13. Yikes, I agree with you. I don't like the way this product works at all. I've tried tan lotions before, and they just made me look so fake, so I never bothered with them again. Thanks for sharing, hun.

  21. it's so funny how you said "I feel almost naked without" a tan, "and definitely less prettier." when over here (in asia), girls have this inane (bordering obsessive) desire to be as white as they can be. i have naturally tan(ned?) skin and somehow have always been made to feel less/not pretty. it sucks! i need to move lol.

  23. That's so weird, I've been using this tan for the past month and I absolutely LOVE it! I find it lasts longer than St Moriz, fades much more gracefully and I prefer the colour! It is ridiculously orange when you first apply but when I've washed mine off the next day it's been a lovely golden tan. I guess everyone has different experiences! xx

  24. I used this fake tan last night, and to be honest, I thought it was one of the best fake tans I've ever used! I left it on over night, when I woke up I was really dark! And my hands were slightly orange, but after I showered the excess tan washed off and it was a really natural looking tan, I applied more cos I wanted it to look darker, but I've had a completely different experience to you!

  25. Hi, usually you wash your hands after you fake tan that's why you have stains and also I tried this and I have had a completely different experience to you as I think this is one of the best fake tans iv ever tried!x it gives a sun kissed look depending on the colour of your skinx

  26. Ahh same I am crazy for this fake tan, it's by far my favourite! I couldn't believe I'd found a bad review but I guess it works differently for everyone... By the way, the taller, thinner bottle version of this mousse, with a tanning mitt (just a cheap one) works amazingly. It's great for winter and spring when I don't want to look as dark, but oh my god it gives the most beautiful golden, even tan I had only seen in magazines I'm not joking. I went round my house showing my family haha, they didn't really care for fake tan but said that it looked pretty great :D Anyway, yeah just thought I'd say that because it's a shame seeing all these comments about not trying the product, when I had found my perfect tan with it. Also, I've used St Tropez and St Moriz too and I don't apply them all in the same way. They are actually all different products and you have to change your method for each one and see what works best.

  27. to me it looks like you are not very good at putting on fake tan...??? i used this stuff and its great. dont do it with your bare hands and dont appply right on to the skin... theres nothing wrong with this tan.

  28. Read the first comments on this tan, as I had just bought some instead of my usual St. Moritz which I find gives me a headache and wears off quite patchy and thought OMG what have I done!! However, my concerns were unfounded as I used it earlier on and it is lovely. My only moan is that it is runnier than St. Moritz so a bit harder to apply, but use latex gloves so as not to get it on my hands. The colour is lovely, there is no streaking, it dries quickly and doesn't feel sticky. It smells to me like coconut which I love so that's fine and overall I am very pleased with it. I think maybe that it doesn't suit people with paler or pinker toned skins as I have a fairly olivey kind of skin and brown hair and this colour tan is lovely. So I would say don't take too much notice of negative comments, the best way to judge anything is to give it a whirl and see for yourself :) happy tanning xx
